Optec's fiber launch leads are used to measure insertion loss and/or far-end connection of a fiber optic link used to connect the link under test to an OTDR. They are available in a range of fiber types, lengths and connector configurations to suit testing of telecommunications and local area networks.

All our fiber launched leads are made to conform IEC, EIA/TIA or Telcordiaperformance requirements.They are made of extremely low loss connector with optimized end-face geometry and enhanced optical performance. Terminated with 250μm bare fiber and packed into a compact and lightweight plastic spool, this launch lead can be fitted easily into an OTDR case for conducting convenient launching test.
